small volume euro kegs..

Post by jaroporter » Thu Apr 23, 2015 6:51 pm

desperate to get hold of some small kegs, preferably 10L. ideally just the smaller version of the 20L slim kegs that have become common.
i've seen them specced on the portinox site, though as they don't list them in the shop section i wonder if it'd have to be a huge order for them to supply. requested information but haven't heard back so not sure. i'd be in the market for a fair few, but don't have the capital for 100.. !
i know you can get 9L cornies, but those would probably not be ideal due to the lids not sealing under low pressures (this is still the case, right?).
10L casks would even be great if they exist.. ?!

anyone know anywhere to try or have any thoughts? all advice much appreciated and thanks in advance..

I'm looking for something similar myself. As of yet I haven't found a solution but I'll let you know if I find anything.

Logical size - but not one that seems to be serviced - EcoKeg do a 5L Microkeg but that may be too small for your needs. Most sizes after that are 20+ litres

http://www.ecokeg.com/

Mini-kegs here - not much info tho
Primary 1: Nonthing
Primary 2 : Nothing
Primary 3 : None
Secondary 1 : Empty
Secondary 1 : None
DJ(1) : Nowt
DJ(2) : N'otin....
In the Keg : Nada
Conditioning : Nowt
In the bottle : Cinnamonator TC, Apple Boost Cider, Apple & Strawberry Cider
Planning : AG #5 - Galaxy Pale (re-brew) / #6 - Alco-Brau (Special Brew Clone) / #7 Something belgian...
Projects : Mini-brew (12l brew length kit) nearly ready :D

Corny types can be had in that sort of size but the fittings won't match what you have.

just found this place.. http://ndl.beta.threadgroup.com/ for 10L kegs

..US, but with UK distributor and international pricing "coming soon". no info on the spears but i'd think it's probably the usual. might drop an email. no minimum order either.
any thoughts anyone?

also stock the OEM 2L kegs, anyone know anything about these?

The OEM 2l kegs look like growlers that some shops are selling. Brew builder also sells them at not much more than the Ali express price. There are also 4l versions.

Keep up to date on their uk distro. A good alternative are crusader kegs locally.

I suspect these are pub fittings, as they are marketing towards breweries.

You will need to be confident in your cleaning regime too.

i wasn't aware crusader did any sizes smaller than 20L? can you request non-listed sizes?

Ah no. Sorry for misleading. Crusader don't do the small stuff, but their big stuff is broadly equivalent on manufacture and price I think.

i emailed NDL a couple of times about getting 5-10 of the 10L kegs, but never got a response to either so unsure if it's a no go for some reason. let us know if anyone else has any luck finding out anything..

They now seem to have a UK number and warehouse, did they ever get back to you?
