Bottom tap economy barrel

Hi all

How long would you expect a beer to keep for in this type of keg, assuming no co2 leaks? Mine appears to have gone off after about 2 months! The last time I used it the co2 ran out so I injected some more through the valve, and it is still there but tasting off!

I've managed up to four/five months from a budget barrel, but the last few pints, even with CO2 added at the first sign of the pressure equalising, were not what they had been. I could never get them to last over summer in my garage, when even two months was pushing it.

I've not used my barrels in the last year, but I think I'll do some winter brews in them now, as I have plenty bottled, and a draught pint is always different.

Yes, mine is in my garage and to be fair I normally drink it within 4-6 weeks of kegging it, but really would have thought it lasted better. I was thinking about giving it another shot of co2 just in case, but I am guessing thats going to be wasted??
