After finally moving to Corny's I am looking to get a good few brews on and bottling force carbonated batches to bottles using the Blichmann beer gun. In particular I am making a cider soon for my wife and her sisters for Christmas day.
I plan to force carbonate in the Cony's and leave sitting in my keezer at approx 0.5 degrees which for 3 volumes of c02 is approx 13.5 PSI. I would leave this for a couple of weeks ahead of bottling. When it comes to bottling I would vent the co2 out of the Corny a few times and bring down to dispensing PSI using the beer gun to <5 PSI.
I am fine with the above and note to chill the bottles down to avoid foaming etc. My question is, if I were to then store the bottles in the fridge between say 3 & 6 degrees will this likely be a bottle of foam once opened or the opposite of being under carbonated? Sorry if obvious questions but still getting my head around volumes and PSI etc.
Corny to bottle carb question
Re: Corny to bottle carb question
It will have the same amount of CO2 as when you bottled it. The bottles won't absorb more CO2 when stored
Re: Corny to bottle carb question
Thank you. I have been doing some reading where I can and have read about potential losses? I suppose its just getting wired into the process and making those slight adjustments through experience.
