I am still new to this whole Corny keg system and due to receive more at Christmas. I am looking to set up a 4 way Gas Mangold in my keezer which will have barbs on them. For my current set up I have a simple John Guest 2 way adapter to split the feed to the kegs I have which is fine. For any barbed connections, are there specific hose clips or providing I use 3/8 line and securely on is that enough to avoid leaks? I already lost a 3KG bottle of Co2 due to a slow leak and having learnt the hard way and fixed that I don't want it to happen again as the cost will just outweigh the benefit.
I am also not fussed that all kegs will be at the same pressure, the majority of my brews will be at 2.4 vols anyway, I am not always strict on style/carbonation method and quite like it fizzy anyway. I may further down the line get a 2 feed regulator to allow me to use some different pressure as required as my Keezer can hold 4 x 19/25L kegs and 2 x 9L kegs. It will also double up as a conditioning/lagering/maturing chamber but would prefer the kegs to be under pressure and carb up as understand that Co2 is absorbed in cold environments.

Re: Hose Barb Connections
3/8" OD gas/beerline has a 1/4" inside diameter so its a 1/4" barb you want to fit. just get the smallest jubilee clips you can to secure..
however i would suggest simply using 2-3 x Y or T connectors with JG fittings,
to ensure a gas tight fit with JG fittings use a sharp knife to cut the tube square on and push the tube well home into the fittings, Dont use scissors to cut the line as even sharp scissors will deform the tube prior to cutting and not provide a square cut.
chop off any ends that have been in and out of a jg fitting as the ldpe line is soft and gets chewed up by repeatedly removing and reattaching.
also avoid sideways stress on the fittings if you b=need to negotiate a bend use a 90 degree jg fitting..

Re: Hose Barb Connections
Thanks Fil, the reason I am swaying to a Manfold is that it is mountable and more importantly has shut off valves. Providing the barb and line is tight enough it should be airtight?

Re: Hose Barb Connections
Cool, I haven't made a purchase yet. Got a few more Cornies coming my way for Christmas so have some more weeks to ponder and decide what is right for me
Re: Hose Barb Connections
Just to update, I received the manfold which actually came as threaded outlets and 4 JG pushfits. The only barb is for the gas 'in' and I have small hose clips which fit it nice and tight so all good.
Just need to get those kegs filled now
