it was clear it had undergone some secondary fermentation/conditioning in the DJ as i'd seen positive pressure in the airlock and evidence of slight yeasty deposits around the neck, but it's held that condition amazingly. i'd have thought the airlock would have led to it eventually going flat, but even with no positive pressure in the airlock for months, it's as lively as a freshly drawn cask - that perfect gravity poured pint! properly smooth and light (i often find bottled beers, even unprimed, develop harsh large bubbles, presumably as they're drunk unvented)
it's still a pretty sub-standard beer, but the serving condition makes it fantastic to drink. i'm gonna have to experiment with this more as while i love the handpump/keg setup i have recently been longing for that gravity poured effect (kent and unrepentant!

seems like the airlock has been venting it, but retaining just the right condition. it was filled right up to just under the bung so very little headspace also. i wonder if the use of a quality silicone bung has helped. some things to think about for this southerner at least..
