kegerator shelving....
kegerator shelving....
I use the side holders of my Beko fridge to support a shelf rather than build a wooden frame inside the fridge. This works great but my mdf shelf is a bit nasty and bows when three kegs sit on it! I would like to make a metal shelf but I don't really know where to buy suitable metal from. Has anyone got ideas please? I originally got mdf because you can just buy a piece at B and Q and they cut it to the exact size you want in store for free. Ideally I would like to buy metal where the same thing can be done.

Is your MDF shelf the lowest one in the fridge? If so, why not just put a support underneath it?

im sure plywood would be up to the job , its what i use if a bit manky now as i didnt varnish it
Screw a couple of batten underneath going from side to side and it should be plenty strong if needed

Re: kegerator shelving....
look for a local sheet metal or welding and fabrication company, most are happy to cut to size, mine does

Thanks for the tips by the way everyone.

I just made a wooden one using a beech worktop chopping board. With a couple of ply runners underneath to go into the fridge shelf runners its pretty strong. Only costs a tenner too

How many kegs do you put on it? My shelf can potentially take three 19l kegs but it's not really up to supporting three full ones.
