Help needed with a 1/4 pint EWL Handpull
Help needed with a 1/4 pint EWL Handpull
I am trying to repair my broken EWL 1/4 pint with Water Jacket Paragon Handpull, the pot is cracked near the top and is leaking. Has anyone got any info on how to take aprt the cylinder, I have tried all ways to seperate it but no joy. Any help appreciated. or a link to a breakdown, anything.

Re: Help needed with a 1/4 pint EWL Handpull
i'll do my best to explain with just words..
the cylinder is in two pieces (three if you count the water jacket, but this can be ignored). the top end/round and central cylinder are one part and the bottom end/round with the hosetail is the second part. they screw together. so if you leave the cylinder bolted to the clamp, and clamp it onto a solid structure, you should be able to unscrew the bottom round with a large spanner/grips/etc. on the hexagonal part. if it's old and the seals may not be perfect then it can be that a little beer has seeped in to the thread and dried, which makes it a hell of a lot harder to undo, but you could soak it in warm water to help..
hope that makes sense?

Thank you so, so much, I just managed to seperate it. My god that was tighter than my wallet !!!. The top part incorporates the cylinder section while the water jacket is a part on its own and the bottom part is where the thread is. so, 3 parts in all. I will upload some pictures of the stripdown for others to benefit.
