Would it hurt them to have the regulators inside the fridge

i think condensation moisture may be more of a risk to the regulators inside a keg fridge than the temperature, after all your emulating a beer cellars conditions and the regulators are ment to also live in the cellar too

I was kind of thinking along those lines myself but not the condensation bit
I suppose I could give it a go for a while and check the dials regularly
Just seems daft to drill a hole or holes in the side of the fridge when this one has tons of room to have everything inside
