taps for casks

My father in law has stumbled across a couple of casks from someone who owned a pub about 20 years ago. There pretty grotty but he wants to clean them up and use them !
I took a look at them today and the hole where you wouldnt usually tap from isnt threaded, yet after doing a bit of research every tap i can find for casks has a threaded fitting.
Anyone know where/if i can get a tap to fit this cask ?

I've never seen a cask with a threaded hole where the tap goes.

In my experience that hole has always been sealed with a keystone.

They may well still be owned by the brewery (or its successor). You may want to check it out, remember kegwatch monitor these sites.

I've never seen a cask with a threaded hole where the tap goes.

We have new Crusader casks and IIRC the keystone hole has not exactly threads but sort of thread-looking small tiny grooves for grip. Actually pretty sure of that because I use a sanitiser-soaked tissue and wipe the hole and my muscle memory remembers grooves.

Do kegs generally have a serial number or something I can check with keg watch ? They Deffo had a stamped brewery name on them but can't remember what it was, Deffo not a well known one, as I said they have to be atleast 20 yrs old
