Is 3/16ths line ok to use for gas?

Post by Jim my » Tue Jul 05, 2016 11:33 pm

I'm just setting up a Kegerator and just wondered if anyone had used 3/16ths line for the gas supply to their cornies?
I could fit this through the drain hole in the fridge as well as the heater cable where if I use 3/8ths I will have to start drilling holes.
Can anyone see a problem with doing this?

One word answer Yes but be careful of the fitting coming from the regulator as they have had a tendency to leak I use 3/16 no trouble

I used the drain hole with my fermentation fridge in order to avoid drilling. A few crash cools later and I had large puddles on the floor where the condensation was running out of the drain hole and along the cables.

I guess the drain hole is there for a reason! LOL! I have since drilled for the cables on this fridge and my kegerator.

I've thought of that  I just looped the cable and gas line so any drips will fall in the condensation tray, I've used 3/16ths gas line and it's working a treat :D

Good work! Didn't work out with the drip tray I had but definitely the easier option!
