Anyone tried the Perlick 680's?

I've currently got 3 Perlick 650's on my kegerator and want to add a couple more. I was wondering whether to add the "creamer" 680 models...possibly for ESB's and stouts.

Does anyone have any experience with them? Do they produce a different sort of head from a normal pour?

I don't think they are, if I remember correctly they have no restricter disc.

I think they just try to mimic a similar result.

That would be perfect, and at £40 they are the same price as the Perlick 630's which don't have the creamer function - got to be worth a punt!

My understanding was a forward pull opens the tap as normal, the centre position seals the tap and a backward push opens a valve in the piston ball which has the same action almost as a beer engine sparkler.

Pushing the handle back moves a stainless steel piston, exposing small holes. The turbulence created by beer passing through the holes products a creamy head
