It's another one of those :(. But I'm desparate. I had to resort to using the 16g cartridges to push my beer out.

i get my refills at Barber Bros in Balsall Heath in Birmingham, luckily i work in Birmingham but if you're over that way for any reason i'd highly recommend them. 2kg fire extinguisher refill was £2, also they sell 6kg co2 cylinders for £35 - bargain!

Thanks for the replies. I did find the Birmingham place myself. It's good to hear they're good. Bratby is in Shrewsbury so much closer. I'll give them a call. Thanks again.

I use "The Beer and Gas Man", they deliver to many areas around the Midlands, I've had them deliver to home and work (depending when the day/time they are delivering) currently 6Kg bottle is £8 +vat for a re-fill.

When I got my first bottle off them there was no charge/deposit for the bottle, not sure if this still stands though.

Looks like he no longer does free bottles then, it was about 4 years ago when I got my first one.

Thanks for the heads up on barber bros prices although I'm not over bham very often tho, worth remembering.

The beer and gas man didn't want to know when I rang him

I sent Bratby an email on Friday morning. Still waiting for a response.

So as if by magic I got a reply from Bratsby. I got a quote of £28 to refill my 2 bottles, one is 2.5lb, the other 10lb. That is providing the bottles don't need to be tested.

If they do then they won't be able to do it for me. So I'd have to buy a new bottle. That'd be £60 for a 10kg one (~22lb) and £24 to refill it thereafter.

They only refill on weekdays so I'd have to leave the bottles with them for a week.

I'm heading down to NEC this weekend so I tried to give Barber Bros a call on 0121 440 4737. I get the number unavailable tone. Are they still in business? Does anyone have a working number for them?

that's strange, i rang them on that very same number last week. i doubt they've gone anywhere. i'm not sure they are open on a weekend tbh, i've only visited on weekdays but not definite.

Looks like it was an issue with my desk phone. I called them up from my mobile and I'll be visiting them tomorrow. They're open 8:30-12:30 on Saturdays btw.

great stuff. walk through the gates and you'll be surrounded by gas bottles. about 25metres in and there's an entry door tucked away on your left (might be blue or red) - in there, amongst all the nude calendars, you'll find cheap co2
