Low CO2 pressure on new cylinder

Post by gobuchul » Fri Sep 28, 2018 4:06 pm

Hi

Connected up my new CO2 cylinder today. First time I have CO2 for 18mths.
It had been left outside overnight and was fairly cold.
However, the pressure seems very low. I know that CO2 isn't like a lot of other gas and the pressure isn't an accurate representation of contents but I can't remember being this low in the past? Although it's been a while since I last used CO2.
What do you think?

Looks fine.

Weigh the cylinder without the regulator, subtract the tare weight stamped on the side and reassure yourself you've got 6Kg gas or whatever
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

Don’t take too much notice of the right hand gauge. I’ve got the same model of regulator and my needle barely moves off the stop, even with a brand new cylinder.
