Seals for Swing Tops?

Post by aamcle » Sun Feb 16, 2020 12:12 pm

I have some that need replacing, where is the best/cheapest place to buy them?

If that isn't the best option I have a set of punches that should work with the seal material but exactly what would I need to buy? That is what thickness and what material?

Thanks All. Aamcle

They're less than 21p each!! How many do you need and how much would you expect to pay for them?

9.4p each. Just under 1/2 the Wilko price. But do you need 100?

I'll probably go for the 50, I really trying not to have "left overs" as I've only just finished off the hops I bought before I started getting them ready weighed :).

I know it's inconsistent hunting around for the cheapest deal and then buying grain and hope pre-weighed but I guess I'm just going to have to live with it ...

Check that the swing tops have removable seals. Most these days do not. They are glued on and cannot be removed. Only the porcellain ones have seals that can be removed. The cheapest place to buy them is Brouwland.

The bottles came with Free beer from Aldi and do have removable seals, I think I have one or two glued on but they were from some other shop. :) :)

I bought these for a load of old Grolsch bottles with perished seals they are brilliant and made of silicone and far cheaper than anywhere else!
Most of the ones I found in the UK in the UK are overpriced and made of rubber material that will perish again over time.I bought some from a UK supplier that perished in less than a year!
Yes they are from China but they arrived quickly (don't know about now though due to current circumstances.)
