S30 inner O ring - size?

Post by brewbrew » Sat Jun 06, 2020 7:25 pm

i have just bought some rather expensive O ring replacements that are the wrong size - the inner diameter is too small. I wondered if it was my valve that was out of date of a different size variant. However, on checking, the new O rings have an inner diameter that is bigger than the neck of both the standard CO2 bulbs and the Brewgas/Hambleton Baird S30 cylinder. I tried to use a bulb - but all the gas, not surprisingly, just jetted out of the side and none ended up in my barrel.

Does anyone know the specification of this inner O ring? I want to try and buy some from the wider O ring market - rather than the so called specialist suppliers that charge nearly £1 for an O ring that has a value of 3p.

Cheers,

BB

I have now measured up from my small collection of worn but original versions. I'm confident that the ring is an 8mm inner, 12mm outer black nitrile job. The neck diameter on CO2 bulbs is 8.5mm - so just enough overlap for a tight seal. 18p each at accu.co.uk
