JG 7/16 FFL to 3/16 push fit

Post by j444fog » Thu Dec 02, 2021 10:05 pm

Does anyone know if JG do a 7/16 FFL to 3/16 push fit? (Beer out disconnect thread to 3/16 beer line is the required end result).
Searched high and low but can't find one.
Cheers.

I never found one but they do stem 3/8 to 3/16 adapters that go in the usual screw on JG fittings for disconnects (or the right angle versions). It’s a bit neater than having to use a bit of 3/8 beer line and then a straight reducer.

As foobar has suggested - stem adapters are what you need.

I have one of these on every keg and shank to reduce the normal 3/8” push for connector to 3/16”: https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product ... t-reducer/
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

Thanks both for the response, much appreciated.

I thought this would be the case, every now and again, I delude myself into thinking that 3/16 with a 7/16 ffl should be a standard JG fitting both for disconnect and the equivalent on the tap side.

I'm going to purchase a nukatap fc with shank, and want to run 3/16 line between cornie and shank (mounted on fridge door). In my fantasy world, 3/8 wouldn't exist in this run. Probably overthinking on my behalf as I'm hoping that the flow control removes any occasional fobbing, but, I'm kinda going at this belt and braces.

Thanks again for your help.

Well you won't need 3/8 line at all with the stem adapters, it converts the other fittings to use only 3/16 line (unlike the straight through ones).

Great find and it is interesting that someone finally picked up on this and made something; I don't think Keg King or KegLand ever would have as it is a strange size for them. I wonder who the actual manufacturer is and if they will start making it to the UK. Also the $50m is, given they are new and from an unknown source, "are they reliable?".

I'm guessing by 7/16 FFL you really mean 1/4" FFL (which has the 7/16" UNF thread)? And (still guessing) you're trying to do this, and it uses the adapter the others are suggesting:

They are rather jolly.

The advantage (apart from not needing a 3/8" to 3/16" adapter):
They are metal. Those JG plastic ones break in two inconveniently easily (do not over-tighten JG ones, and do not attempt to hand-tighten it if not renowned for having a very light-touch).

The disadvantage:
They cost how much  ! For piece of mind I recommend not finding the Norwegian KON to UK £ converter.

Nice to hear some feedback about them. I was thinking about grabbing some as I like the lower profile.

A lot of the "coming soon" products mentioned in the video are available (https://www.kegland.com.au/kegging/keg- ... nects.html). (Coming to the UK?).

I liked the narration by a Professor Brian Cox look-a-like. Sort of adds extra credibility to the product!

My credit card and Aliexpress have had a love affair over the last year and so I have also bought the NUKA taps with stout spout as well as Duotight inline regulators and much more aside. Don't like their government but do like their business approach. An item had not arrived and no issues, they returned the money paid for it.

Well, when comparing their management with their government, I would say that Scott Morrison seems like a great guy. Blatant copies of other companies inventions, cutting every corner to cut costs while claiming it's for product improvements.
