ATB yeast

Post by Relax » Tue Nov 20, 2007 11:25 am

I was looking for some yeast for my next brew and all my local dealer could come up with is small bags ( 6 gr? ) marked ATB.

Yeah, I know i should get some better, but it's not easy to get in ahurry.
Does anyone know this ATB yeast?

Is it the same that follows some kits?

The dealer supply Coobra , Coopers and Geordie kits .... could ATB come from them?

I haven't heard of that, but homebrew shops anywhere should be able to post dried yeast to you at envelope posting prices. Safale S-04 is a popular dried yeast round here. It comes in 11g sachets for about a quid.

That isn't to say don't try the ATB yeast, I'd be a little hesitant though, but it could be fine.
