cracked lid

I brewed an Old English Ale kit. I sterilized me barrel, primed it and syphened all the ale in and then screwed the lid on, only to find said lid was cracked. It was too late to get a new one, so i left the cracked one on, and replaced it with a new one the following evening. To ensure the priming still went ok (as any CO2 created since it went into the barrel will have obviously escaped through the crack) I bunged in another table spoon of sugar. Will the priming go OK or not?

I reckon you'll be OK. Only about a fifth of the priming sugar would get used up in 24hrs, as I find it usually takes about 5 days to fully carbonate, and you added about that much back in.
