My AOB Bitter has stopped fermenting at 1014. I used the kit's yeast and beer enhancer instead of glucose. The OG was 1042. It was fermenting for 5 days at 72F (24c)
I tried Yeast nutrient and left it for 24 hours and then I tried Super Enzyme for 24 hours (I could not get Brupacks dry beer enzyme at my local shop).
It still has not started refermenting.
The instructions say to wait until you have a reading under 1010.
My only other option now is to try a packet of Muntons Gold Yeast but seeing that the FG is 1014 it probably will not start fermenting again.
My questions are:
Should I try the gold yeast?
Now that I've put the yeast nutrient and enzyme into the FV and nothing has happened will the beer be OK.
A litlle Problem
Philip, it could well have finished - using the beer enhancer could in theory increase the final gravity slightly. The fact that the temperature has been quite high throughout would tend to support this.
If you're putting the beer into a barrel to condition, don't worry, just go for it. If you're bottling just leave it a few more days to be sure, check the gravity hasn't moved and bottle.
I would say fresh yeast at this stage is unlikely to help much, and you won't have harmed the beer by adding nutrient and enzyme.

To Jim
Thanx for the reply Jim,
I'll switch the heater pad off and let the FV settle down for 7 days approx and then transfer it to a king keg and add issinglass to clear it.
Then I'll transfer it to corni kegs without priming.
Next time I'll use Safale 04 yeast and not the yeast that comes with the kit.
