Hi all, it's been a while since I last posted - been sorting the house out to sell plus tons of other "stuff"...
Anyway, as i'm still finding the time (just) to brew I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on bottle conditioning. Specifically, recently I have been making lager instead of bitter/ale and I have been getting fed up with the amount of sediment at the bottom of my two litre PET bottles (or old glass bottles for that matter).
My issue is this - I don't like the look of the sediment, I don't like the taste and I hate the way it all comes floating up to the surface spoiling what was a clear looking lager.
Does anyone have any thoughts on removing the sediment? I have thought about using some sort of pump with a long straw to remove the sediment once it's conditioned - this would be attatched once the bottle was filled so would need to be pressure proof. Then I thought why not use one of those soda stream carbon dioxide injectors to fill the bottle after removing the sediment...
Any ideas?
Steve.
'Tis me again.
You can get PET adapters for the midget widget CO2 system and force carbonate them that way.
