Has anyone tried the Brewferm Framboos kit ? or the Ambiorix one ?
I am thinking of getting one to give it a try but decide which .
Any comments ?
Brewferm Framboos
I did a very strong, dark Brewferm Abdij before Christmas, and it's certainly different. I've had a snifter or two, and soon after brewing it tasted very odd - some strange flavours in there, not unlike commercial Abbey beers... plus the barley wine sweetness you seem to get in all these really strong ones.
Its improving all the time though, and I suspect it's got a fair way to go before it reaches its best, so be prepared for a long, long maturation time.
I might try the Framboos myself.

I've never brewed any of their kits before but I've heard good things. The one thing to remember about the higher gravity beers is that they need to be left to condition for longer than the average beer so you may want to get another kit to brew at the same time to ensure you have something to drink whilst you wait for the Belgian style stuff to mature

I've made the Kriek beer and its already good after only 3 weeks in the bottle. The cherry twang is really there and not at all 'almondy' like cherry flavoured products can sometimes tend to be. At 6.3% I've no doubt there's better things to come. I cant believe how quickly it cleared. I'd love to make up another Brewferm kit, had my eye on the Tripel.
