Hey-ho folks.

I'm brewing my second Cooper's IPA and have run into a problem.
Brew went in last Thursday and took a little longer than usual to kick off. By Saturday it was in full flow but had picked up a distinct eggy odour which, as swmbo was away, meant it didn't end up down the sink ;)

Just had a quick whiff of it now (post initial fermentation) and it is very noticeable. I've done a search and have seen lots of info regarding this and lager yeasts but am concerned it may be an infection.

Anybody else had their ale suffer from this? Have my ventures into alchemy led me to discovering an expensive way to produce stink bombs?

My cleaning and sanitising regime is not changed from a thin bleach soak followed by plenty of rinsing followed by a sodium met rinse.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for allaying my fears DaaB, I'll leave it for another week and see how things pan out.

Update:
The smell is dissipating. Still a slight odour, but it mostly smells like beer now.
I'm wondering if it was down to the yeast. Since I started brewing again I've used Safale s04 for all my brews, but with this one I used the stuff that came with the kit. I still rehydrated it and force fed it yeast steroids (read 'vit'), but strangely it took a while to get going. Maybe I've been spoilt by the s04.
Anyway, worry over, instead of the sink I'm happy to say this brew will be visiting the lavatory via a bladder detour. \:D/
