I phoned Leyland last week, The Springhead kits still not in, but he was expecting them very soon (within the next few weeks)

Aparently launch delayed by floods (I know it was a while since the floods but some people round here are still living in caravans, owing to time it takes to sort out insurance claims and getting builders etc), the brewery had to get its commercial production back up and running first so the kits took a back seat......then the malt prices went up so the prices needed amending, which aparently effected the packaging.....Hope there worth the wait! Might be worth giving Leyland a bell to see if there in, let us know if they are.

Maybe I'll give Milestone a whirl in the meantime. What's your view on their choices?

Have to say have tried Roaring Meg in the bottle and although it was a nice beer I've had better, don't think it warrants all the fuss.

Got a milestones - Lions Pride in the fermenting bin at the minute. Its my first kit so its hard for me to comment especially at this early stage but its fermented really well and its smells great. It was just hitting the black line on my hydrometer this morning so looking at putting it in bottles come Tuesday.

Will make my first brew post shortly when I have some more pictures to go with it

£5 p&p = 12p per pint in a 40 pint brew. Pay the p&p - still makes brewing cheaper than a less-than-average pub based pint on a pint by pint basis. Want more economy? Most on-line suppliers have no extra p&p per X number of kits; so buy 3 and it's only 4p extra a pint.
