Question on bottling

Post by marky66 » Thu Mar 06, 2008 10:51 pm

I currently have a Brewferm Tripel in the FV, made up with light spraymalt and safale 04. I heard stories about exploding bottle and wanted to know the better types to use , Ive been collecting and sterilising Badger ales bottles , should these be strong enough , I certainly enjoyed emptying them.

I'm pretty sure that if the bottle came with beer in it then it's good to use again. The only thing I can think of is a post somewhere on here talking about certain breweries using thinner glass for their bottles iirc brown ale?

You shouldn't have a problem with an exploding bottle if the fermentation is finished btw.

I used some badger bottles recently and they were fone for me..... as stevezx7r says, make sure the fermentation has finished though.

Once again thanks for all your advice, fermentation is going like a rocket,
OG was 1075 after 4 and a half days was 1020 will be waiting till it reaches 1010 but all the wort aeration and re-hydrating of yeast works a treat. Must be an easier way to aerate wort as my arms are still sore.
