Last night I got my 3rd kit started.

Gonna be a bit different this one and I have put it under the stairs as its a lot cooler.

I have heard a lot of good things about this one from other post on the site so I'm looking forward to it.

btw - managed to get myself around 50 brown bottles for free from a restaurant, best thing is they are the same bottles my home brew shop sell for 70p each!!

Hopefully it'll taste nothing like Corona ;)

Small clear bottles is just asking for trouble in a country as sunshiney as Mexico. Probably. :D

Bit of an update with this one.

Reading now of 1020.

I have read that lagers can give off an egg smell which this one does....is this ok ?

A lot of activity though.

I'm no lager expert but the only brew I've done with a lager yeast was pretty smelly, and it's very early days - sure it'll do fine.

Since the brew is under the staircupboard (which opens to the livingroom) my wife thought she could smell something funny.

May be I should have put it out in the garage :)

I've brewed quite a few kits now, and my wife quite likes the malt smell while making them up and has never moaned during fermentation. Until I did that US one with lager yeast and she hated it and made yuck noises for about four days.

Well my 3rd kit seems to have been a great success.

Holding a reading of 1008 for 3 days now so thought it best to get it bottled while I can (baby due any day now).

Managed to get around 45 bottles, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Pregnant wife was a great help too, priming bottles and fixing labels for me, took around 2 hours to complete.

Here are some photos.

.....and the collection so far under the stairs. The Scottish Heavy is still out in the garage along with some of the barrels IPA

If I have to go to work tomorrow (due to baby not arriving yet) I was going to take a trip to my Home Brew shop and may be get the Muntons Nut Brown Ale kit.

Really fancy trying that one but couldn't find much about it on this site.

Sounds good though.
