Added yeast vit and beer enzyme last night. This morning, given previous re-start failure, I was actually surprised to find a fine krausen on the dogbolter.

Thanks go to DaaB and other who have offered asvice and especially to The Hop Shop who got my small order to me next day and who also offered friendly advice (just wish they were nearer - love to pop in).

Lesson Learned; yeast vit will be added to any brew where I "muck about" with the fermentables and I will keep a stock of beer enzyme in.

:D

Aye, mine kicked off again after the started but I must admit I only used half a packet of yeast. Had been at 12 for nearly 2 days but came to barrel it and my brand new barrels lid was split. Going to have to wait an extra day while I get it replaced.

Not a smooth brew !

JohnJeye - Bummer. Hope all turns out okay; lmk when you get to sample? After the problems with the Dog I'll be posting the results in 6/7 weeks.

Dogbolter is not ready to start drinking until 21/04/08 and the majority will be left longer after that.

However, curiosity got the better of me last night and I cracked open the clearest pint bottle.

It's a good pint (at 7%ish); one you'd have no complaints about if you bought it over the bar but one which may not inspire you to order a second. After the trouble with it I am very pleased and will leave the rest to age.

Being in crown capped brown glass bottles I'll be seeing how much better it gets with age (how long canm it last bottled like this?).

Thank you all for the assist!
