Help me decide (summer brews)

Post by PeteH » Fri Apr 18, 2008 4:24 pm

I've just ordered a Brupaks Munich dark from Leyland home brew (my local) and I'm also gonna get one of the Brupaks Pride of Yorkshire range for summer, so I was thinking of Fixby Gold, or Linthwaite light. Anyone shed any light on the taste/differences of these 2. Also, anyone ever done a porter kit?
Ta.

Hi Pete, one of my first kits was a Linthwaite light and it was lovely, can't comment on the Fixby Gold though. I'd recommend using light spray malt rather than sugar (if it asks for any) and maybe get hold of some Goldings hops (an ounce should do it) for dry hopping if your gonna keg it.

I would have thought it wouldn't require sugar apart from priming as I think its a 3kg kit. I'm gonna bottle, can I still dry hop? How is it done?
