How long to clear in a KK

Post by gullarm » Thu May 22, 2008 8:19 pm

Can any one shed some light on my small problem

I brewed some Milestone IPA and then transferred it to my King Keg on the 18th of April, its now the 22nd of May and it still isnt clear.

So over 4 weeks.

In comparison the Lagers I have bottled take around 7-14 days to clear, but in the keg everytime I drop a pint of IPA out its still hazy?

Now I usually drink the stuff within a month cloudy or not, but having been away for over 3 weeks I was expecting the Perfect Clear Pint.
I also havent moved the keg.

Im looking at getting around 80 pints of lager on the go in the 2 kegs for a party in the summer, but I can hardly have a party with cloudy yeasty lager.

I will be the laughing stock of the town!

I store my KK in cool place and often the pints I first pour after 4/5 weeks can be a little cloudy. However within a week or 2 they will clear to the point that the beer gets clearer with every pint I pour. Regards the party - as long as it tastes fine then I wouldn't worry. Free beer is free beer!
