Well took the plunge and bought my first starter kit ..bin etc etc etc , so i thought i would start with a stout it is a coopers stout and i am going to use 1kg of beer enhancer or should i use something else ??

I'm drinking a Cooper's Stout now that I made with 1Kg of Dark Spraymalt, and it's really heavy and very black indeed, with a great head... I reckon that this particular kit is probably one of the best kit Stouts available.
I would also add that it's one of the few kits where you could easily use Beer Kit Enhancer and still make an excellent beer.
