i made up a john bull lager on thursday night it had started bubling by friday morning andwas rampant throughout saturday but by sunday dinnertime it had virtually stopped is this ok all my other brews have bubbled for around a week but this one seems to have fermented in a matter of days help
used john bull lager kit
1kg of brewers suger (from local homebrew sop)
made up to 23 liters
john bull lager
A mix of 1ltr PET and brown glass pints. Primer was Your sugar solution applied as per instructions (and as in successful in JB stout and Cooper's Dark).
Fermentation had finished (steady 1.010 after 3 days I vaguely remember) and I am fairly confident at 7 days the yeast should not have dropped out entirely.
Then 10 days at 22-25Deg C ish onto conditioning at 16-18 deg C (as cool as I can get!).

You're a mine of info DaaB, thank you! Will definitely try the innoc effort if that'll save the brew; tastes great after all - is just flat.DaaB wrote:The health of the yeast is also important, it may well be spent if it was getting close to or beyond its use by date.
There's no need to drink flat beer, you can always rehydrate some fresh yeast in 110mls of water and innoculate each bottle with around 3ml of the yeast solution.
As for the age of the yeast; don't know. But I do remember thinking how dusty the can was when I lifted it down from the HBS shelf.

Paul- top fella, I'd appreciate it - perhaps a pic of how a decent pint of JB should turn out?
