Hi after taking some of DAABs advice i bought a coopers IPA kit and some DME to go with it. I was suprised to see that the DME was actually in a tin, 1kg. (I ordered 2)
So the question is, what's the best way to make it?
Should warm contents of IPA kit add to FV and then dissolve the liquid DME (1kg) in water add to FV and then fill with water, wait for temp to get to 20 and add yeast? (Safale so4 or kit yeast?)
Also, if I want the stronger version, do I just add less water (say to 18 ltrs) or add more dme?
I plan on bottling this one, for a gift at the end of August.
After a recent muntons kit failing I am keen to get this right!
Thanks
Matt

DME = (Spray) Dried Malt Extract aka SprayMalt
LME = Liquid Malt Extract
It looks like you bought Liquid Malt Extract instead, which you can still go ahead with.
Warm the IPA kit tin and the LME tin in warm/hot water. Add to the fermenting bin, together with the bolied water and stir well to dissolve. Then add the cold water and test for temperature. Then add the yeast. If you follow the Coopers directions you will get there with no probs.
I've got one on the go right now.

Hi, I've taken Daab's advice. I've just made up a Coopers IPA kit using 1Kg of DME (medium) and SafeAle 04 yeast made up to a fraction over 20l. I'm planning on leaving it for 10 days before 2nd FV in a Perssure keg (where it seems 4+ weeks is best?!). My question is how much priming sugar and what type of sugar should I use?
