filter AND camden tablet?

Post by micmacmoc » Fri Jul 11, 2008 2:58 pm

starting two new kits tomorrow. Is it a good idea to filter and add a camden tablet to the water? Any reason not to?
I also bought some hops, fuggles, its an IPA kit, muntons connoiseur, at which point should I add the hops to it?
I have a whle day off tomorrow pottering in my brewroom, can't wait!

Hi

Well I dont think 1/2 a campden tablet will do your brew any harm, and if your filter is not removing chlorine then not adding one is a worse risk.

Other kits I have used with "teabags" say add hops at days 3 of fermentation.

You obviously have a more refined palate than mine - suspect my chlorine receptors were burnt out at an early age by London water/recycled piss.
