Camden Tablets

Reading around here and elsewhere it looks like Camden Tablets are used by wine makers to stop the fermentation. So they're clearly not poisonous but they do inhibit yeast growth, I deduce. So won't it harm my fermentation if I treat my water with one before I start a kit?

Should I do anything between crumbling in the tablet and starting the kit? e.g. leaving it 1/2 hour or so?

Yes and no.

They can be used to kill off yeast but you use a much high concentration to do that. The amount used in treating water is fine for yeast.
