Leaky FV at the tap seal

I'm having a bit of trouble with my two young's FVs. They had a tap cut-out and I fitted the taps this morning. Unfortunately I'm experiencing a bit of leakage around the soft rubber seals. Has anyone worked out a solution for this? I tightened the nuts SUPER tight!

Stoutman, this may sound daft, but you may have overtightened the nut.
I'm assuming the area around the tap cut out was a nice and smooth mating area for the seal.
Soft rubber seals respond better to light tightening, and may deform when tightened too much.

Might be worth slackening the nuts off slightly...worth a try

Thanks Vossy, after loosening the nuts slightly, it seems my problem is sorted! So much for the "bull-in-a-china-shop" approach!
