I believe 1.042ish to 1.014ish is actually the target on that kit.
It's a hoppy session beer.

I'm toying with the idea of getting the hydi out again tonight ..... not much point though. I'll leave it alone a bit more yet. Maybe the weather'll change and it'll get a bit warmer? Failing that, I think I might buy a bag of coal and get the range going, day and night, for a couple of days. If that doesn't shift it, nothing will.

No. I PM'd IanB a week ago. No song and dance. No drama. I don't want to be made a Mod, to make me stay. I just asked if he could please delete my account. I then logged out and really haven't given the place much thought since. When ye move on, ye should never look back. It's the way.
Now; Wonder if I should grab a bag of coal .....

I was tkling tot he founder of Woodfordes a while ago, adn he has 'let slip' that Woodfordes ales are designed to finish a little higher than the normal 75% attenuation as he prefers his beers to have a bit of sweetness in them. what this generally means is that a 1.042 beer would finish at 1.014 not the 1.010-1.012 that we would expect.YorkshireHeat wrote:my Wherry stalled at around 1.014, tried rousing it to no avail but it wouldn't go below .014
And there is no way anyone should expect an all malt kit to finish below 1.010
