Hi folks;
I have just joined the site and look forward to hearing from you all. Now I wish I had registered and gone through the forums earlier this week as I made my first online order this week. And guess who it was with? Easybrew! I have heard nothing from them regarding my order and they do not reply to emails or answer the phone! What a way to run a company! I will be using Hop & Grape for my next online order!
I have only just started brewing this year and unfortunately my local Homebrew Shop (Spencers Homebrew of Rayners Lane, which was in walking distance for me) has ceased trading and the shop now will become a 'Chinese Herbal Medicine Shop! How sad is that? I think once I have a few brews under my belt (as in post-kit brewing) I think I'll open up a shop out this way as there is a huge gap in the market in London.
Anyway enough of my yakking. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the kindergarten.
I was tempted by easybrew once, then fortunately I caught all the news on them here. The woman who runs it had posted an apology on here recently saying things will get better. Clearly not. You can't go wrong with hop & grape though, Patsy's really friendly and helpful.
Setting your own brew shop up may not be such a bad idea. Why not drop an e-mail to Young's Homebrew:
enquiries@youngshomebrew.co.uk
just tentatively checking out costs, profit margins etc. You'll get a quick response from them at the least regarding feasibility.
Anyway, I've got a customer, must dash.
