Sherwood Forest Ale

Post by Damfoose » Tue Sep 23, 2008 9:55 pm

My sherwood has finished fermenting after 6 days or so , Started on the 15th and its down to 1012 tastes good and seems to have droped clear as well even though it is in the FV. I am going to leave it in the FV until Saturday on about an inch of yeast cake reason im doing this is that im not getting home until about 8 at night from work so im not really up to messing with beer when I get in.
I suppose im asking if it will be OK which im sure it will be. It may also drop the last few points because im not rushing it into the keg.

Sounds fine to me, mate. What I'm now itching to know is who produces it ~ and what it'll go down like!

I don't know why but, the name caught my imagination. I tried to side step visions of men in green tights and thought more of mature trees and good ale!

Sherwood was another kit made by Diamalt which went down with them. Old stock will have been manufactured by them in Newark-on-Trent, but any new stock could be another Munton's produced kit...

Well it started at 1050 its a 3.6Kg 2 tin kit with a packet of hop pellets. So far it is down to 1012 and still very slowley bubbling so it should drop to the 1010 by Saturday.

I used safale-s04 and the usual asda 17p water for the kit it tastes quite good from the small sample I had when I took the sample for testing.
