John bull Lager kit

This will be my second kit. will be off to get a third at the end of the week to try and keep a rolling supply as my first kit was made and drank within the month

The first kit was a coopers lager and its what came with my starter kit. Made it as per instructions an i have to admit it didnt taste all that lagery (if thats a word) It had little head, tasted slightly of apples, It could almost have been cider that i was supping. Not that im complaining. I was just hoping for more of a commercial tasting lager not cider.

The second kit is a John bull lager kit, I figured I should try as many as possible before settling on one i prefer, an it £8 to knock up 40 pints its a relativly inexpensive science experiment

For this kit i wanted to try something other than sugar like DME or something, sadly the brew shop didnt have any in so i had to settle for maize sugar. Im tempted to try dry hopping but foolishly didnt think of this while i was getting the kit. Whats the crack with dry hopping? do i make up the kit and add those (in a little perferated back ofc) or do i add them later on in the fermenting stage? If i dont do it on this kit the 3rd kit will definitly have some hops :D
