ok, so i kegged up my latest batch and left it to condition in the warm for a couple of days and before i moved it to a cooler spot i poured myself a wee half-glass to see how it was doing.
very clear, very tasty. nice. but hold on! what are those wispy bits of film floating round in my beer?
does anyone know? they're like extra thin bits of tissue, you can poke them with a fork or whatever and lift them out (except you'd never get them all) but they're so insubstantial when lifted out that you can't really see them any more. is it mould? if it is, is there anything i can do? will they settle to the bottom?
i'll see if i can get a pic, but i think they'll be hard to photograph.
cheers
oh dear, floaties!
Re: oh dear, floaties!
nope, no finings - i've never really had to in the past; my beer usually clears pretty well. the floaties do look a bit like leaf gelatine, though, like you used to be able to buy for cooking (and maybe still can). i'm kinda hoping that if i just don't think about it, maybe they'll go away...
Re: oh dear, floaties!
in all bottles or just the odd one?
Edit- just re-read your post, kegged... doh!!
