Brewing My First

Post by Benson_JV » Wed Nov 12, 2008 5:21 pm

Hallo Hallo All!
I've been lurking about here for a couple of days in anticipation of brewing my first kit!
My father before me, brewed for about 12 years, then now, me, 15 years into my life, about to follow in his footsteps and do the same.

Bought a starter kit the other night and came with a BrewBuddy 40pt lager kit, going to make 30 pints and have a little stronger though.

My father as well, is just ordering a couple 3 brewferm kits to get us going back into the swing.

Wish me luck and i'll post back with any results! :)

Damn! And ye Dad will, of course, have to drink all that strong lager for ye, and pronounce judgement. Oh well, at least ye'll, of course, gain the satisfaction of creating it. They haven't made That illegal at your age yet

I'm sure, with the guidance of ye Dad and this place, ye'll soon be turning out some good gear. Just 'advise ye Dad to take it easy on that lager'

Have fun!

Sorry, why not? It is perfectly legal for anyone age 5 or over to drink alcohol in private in the UK.

I wouldn't recommend it, though. I had a mate years ago who's dad was the steward of a club. He (my mate) used to go round after closing finishing off all the dregs in the glasses when he was about 10. :-&

He developed liver disease when he was 22.

I'm not saying children and teenagers should be getting drunk but I don't think the odd lager you have made yourself at 15 years old is going to hurt you. I also think teenagers who are forbidden from drinking at home will be more likely to binge drink away from home and that allowing the odd glass of beer eliminates the mystery and intrigue kids associate with alcohol.
