barell priming how much sugar ?

Post by eastleighfan » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:12 am

Hi fellow brewers
I am just getting back into home brewing , following a 2 year abscence .
I have got all the kit again , and it's brewing away . My question is this :
The instructions with the kit only contain info for prming bottles , and I want to barrel it , so , can anyone tell me how much sugar I use to prime a barrel with ? It is a 40 pint kit . I seem to remember mixing the sugar with water ,but , for the life of me can't remember how much .
Thanks for any help anyone can give
Happy brewing

Tim

If I barrel a bitter, I normally use 80g of sugar. For a lager, I use 100g of sugar.
