Brewmart IPA Questions

Hi Guys,

I started a Brewmart IPA on Saturday with 1kg of Light Spraymalt instead of sugar. I've checked it yesterday and today on the hydrometer, as the head had subsided and both days I've gotten a reading a 1.012.

Is this too high? As I was under the impression using spraymalt meant that the final reading would be higher? For information the original gravity was as the kit specified 1.040.

1.012 is fine if that's as far as it goes, 1.10 or 1.008 would be better but I wouldn't mess with it for a couple points.
