When i made my kit up i bottled half and put the rest in the barrel, i'm finding that the beer in the barrel is flat and i'm putting it down to the fact that there isnt enough beer in the barrel to pressurise it!
am i right and if so can i inject the barrel with gas, or is it too late ?

Re: Adding gas
Ask yeself; What would ye rather lose? A burst of gas or half a keg of beer?
IF the beer's managed to become oxidised from the air space above it? It'll likely taste like piss and down the drain it goes. If it isn't gone yet? A second or two burst of that gas should stop it doing anything new. Just give it a burst and then pour off a taster in an hour or two. It will probably foam up like billyo, but it's the Taste ye looking for. Tastes fine? It'll Be fine. Carry on.
If it's still flat and / or tastes like shit? Time to start looking for the leak.
