Donated Firkin

Post by Hogshead » Thu Nov 27, 2008 8:17 pm

I've been given a Firkin(ally) and associated shives, taps and chocks etc. I hav'nt got a clue how to use it effectively or whether its even practical for a homebrewer esp. a kit brewer, given that its capacity is almost twice that of a normal brew. I suppose I could put a cushion on it and use it as a seat in my shed.

Advice of a more sensible nature would be greatly appreciated.
And yes, I realise you can put beer in it

You could double up and make 2 of the same brew to fill the ferkin with but that could be costley.... Move to All Grain make bigger brews that way ?

But they do make good seats apparently
