Beer In The Shed

Post by BetterThanTheRealThing » Wed Dec 03, 2008 9:00 pm

Evening all.

I have just been out to the shed where my beer is presently sat. I have a keg of bitter and about twenty bottles of Wherry. The temperature in there is 2 degrees - is this too cold? Should I bring it inside?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Probably best to store & serve it around the 12c-14c mark if you can.

Will try to remember this in future. Store those I want to drink under the stairs for a while.

I am just concerned that it may get colder. When you say 'clear after a few weeks' do you mean where it is presently? Or having been brought inside? I am sure I can find a spot in the house which is not much more than about 15c.

Any suggestions?

I keep my barrels in an unheated shed, granted each has its own sleeping bag coat  but it seems to work a treat, you'll find the liquid inside stays at a temp that is surprisingly higher than ambient.

As for the chill haze, I'm not that anal about beer to worry too much, so you're not alone

ps. I'll look forward to your posts when its 35C in your shed  #-o
