YOUNGS CIDER KIT

Post by robbo79 » Mon Jan 12, 2009 8:28 pm

Hi all, im attempting the cider kit to the 32pint / 18 litre mix!!!....

Now the question i wanna know is as like the beer kit i bottled. i primed with adding 80g sugar to the bucket.

now for the cider kit can i use the same technique? the instructions say... for bottling add 1 tsp to 0.6 l bottle, or 56g to a barrel??

how much sugar do i need to put in the bucket before bottling?? 56g??? or would it be 150g taking it that 1tsp is 5g? to make up the 18litres?

Please help me in understanding this?

A simple way of doing it (for me anyway) is half a teaspoon per pint for ale and one teaspoon per pint for lager. It all depends on how you want your cider - try half and half

In my experience with lager kits I add 8grm of sugar per ltr. So far so good the 4 kits ive made have all had really good fizz not explosive and very pleasant. I would guess a similar rule of thumb for cider.
