Just bottled my 1st Brew!
Just bottled my 1st Brew!
Hey guys i just bottled my 1st brew which is the brubox london bitter, It all looks and smells great. I primed each 1ltr bottle with 1 level teaspoon before i put the bitter in. I looked at the bottom of the bottles and the sugar was sat on the bottom. I decided to gently shake the bottle up to disolve the sugar. Is this the wrong thing to do? Should i have put the sugar in afterwards?

That'll be fine.
A lot of people tranfer the beer to a bottling bucket first, and prime it in bulk with 50 to 80g sugar (depending on the level of carbonation required). The bottling bucket usually has a tap, which you can connect to a bottling stick to make life much easier.

As Jim said, that's fine.
Its what i do, put 1tsp per liter then transfer the beer, cap it off and shake and my brews turn out fine

Any sugar at the bottom of the bottles will get found and eaten over the next few weeks so I wouldn't worry about your current brew.
If you want to make sure your sugar is dissolved you can take 100ml of your brew (or water), bring to the boil and dissolve 50-80g. Add that to your bottling bucket, you won't need to stir as much as dropping sugar straight in. Or, if you don't want to sanitise another bucket and transfer, use a sanitised syringe to add the correct amount to each bottle - inkjet refill kits come with a suitable syringe.
I doubt a blind tasting could distinguish between any of these methods.
