labels?
Re: labels?
I use this page to create the image I want.
I then download and edit the image to take out the url and add the rough ABV to the bottom right of the image using Paint.
Then I go to here to print the image (as a background image) onto some labels that I "borrowed" from work.
Not terribly flashy but more effective than writing on them.
I would be interested to know of any better options though!!

Re: labels?
I just use photoshop...then print them out onto glossy paper and use double sided tape onto the bottle. Cheap and dirty..gets the job done

Re: labels?
I quite like that Seal maker thing, though if I was to actually brew something and consider myself a 'brewer' I would probably design myself something in Illustrator or Photoshop.
If you fancy your hand at some vector drawing, try http://www.inkscape.org or Image manipulation http://www.gimp.org all for free, though Gimp bends my head after being a Photoshop user for years.

Here’s one of the many online label maker sites available.

You don't really need to order from them, just take a screen shot, crop and print.
Personally I think labels are a waste of time, especially as I took the time to remove all the original labels from all my bottles. Just write on the cap what you got in the bottle, and the date it was bottled I.e. for Coopers Stout just write C.S. 01/01/09.
The only time I think I would even consider making labels would be if I have made my own beer from scratch (all grain) as this would be an individual beer, not a beer that has been brewed by thousands of others out of a can that taste all the same.

Re: labels?
You can just use any old bit of graphic software. Photshop is probably one of the easiest. Then just print it out on a normal printer then use good ol pritt stick to stick it to the bottle. Thats what i did with one of my Turbo Ciders that i presented to someone who had been begging me for a bottle for months.
You can always use milk to stick the lables on Im sure i saw that on a post on here somewhere but its an old one and i cba to search for it to link it ^^

I use Excel. Being an accountant I am quiet excel competent so I lay-out a grid, enter the data you require as text, insert a clip art or downloaded image. Copy this 4 to 8 times to fit an A4 sheet so that the labels are the right size for you and then save and update with each brew as necessary.
Must source a guillotine though - all that scissor use gets old on these arthritic hands.
As for sticking them to the bottles, good, old fashioned, hard to obtain, full-fat milk.

Re: labels?
pritt stick works really well for labelling bottles...the labels peel straight off with a tiny bit of warm water, and theres no gumminess left.
Re: labels?
I use Powerpoint to create my labels. You can use all sorts of funky text on there and add pics and the like. Then simply copy the first slide and paste so you have 2 slides in your presentation, and then print 2 slides per page. Perfect size for cutting accross the middle and sticking on your bottles. Really easy to do too!
