Finlandia Apple kit 24 litres - Help with instructions !!

Post by RatboyOllie » Wed Jan 07, 2009 2:33 pm

How do everyone,

Ive managed to get the only Finlandia kit in england without any bloody English instructions!? #-o

Now ive rung up the HBS that sold it and he assures me I cant go far wrong........ clearyl he doesnt know me, but says if i add a kilo of sugar to the 5 gallon fv itll turn out fine. Im happy enough to do this, but..........

could someone with the kit or who has done this before or who knows what their talkin about (not me?!) advise me how to rack off/prime my bottles when ive finished. Do the instructions give quantites etc.....?

Its only the second kit ive done and so im pretty clueless.

Any advice gratefully received !

Cheers

Ollie

RBO, make it up as you would a beer kit, same sugar etc... (1 kg) and prime the bottles the same way.
making 20lrs will make a stronger abv.
cheers,
willie

Hello,

dunno if anyone is interested but ive just kegged this one. I knocked it down to 18.5 litres because thats what the office water bottle i was using as an fv holds. I added 1 kg of brewing sugar and primed the keg with 100g before kegging. I had a sneaky taste whilst siphoning into the keg and must say I am well impressed. Its a strongbow type cider rather than a TC scrumpy type. It tasted nice and sweet and appley even at this early stage. High hopes for this one and think it should turn out nice and strong too, didnt taste strong though and presumably itll only get better if i can leave off it for a few weeks.

Cheers for the replies, seems to have worked out well ! :D :D
