how best to dissolve dark spray malt

Post by drmick » Wed Feb 25, 2009 6:10 pm

Hi All

hopefully I have 1Kg of dark spray malt waiting for me when I get home tonight that I am going to use for a batch of Stout, is there any special way to disolve it? I've had a few problems disolving beer enhancer recently so just wondering if there are any tips that will make it easier - for the beer enhancer I've taken to boiling a litre of water in a pan and disolving it in that while stirring with a whisk and it seems to go in quite happily.

Thanks

DrMick

I've only used DSM twice but I found when I added it to the wort after adding the cold water it seemed to disolve well, when I added to the hot wort before topping up with cold water it clumped and I had to stir like buggery to get it to disolve.
